Today we launched our fundraising project to inject new life into our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) outdoor learning area.
Our current EYFS outdoor facilities are dated and in need of repair. Recent Health & Safety changes to the front school car park has created a newly tarmaced area and somewhat of a blank canvas for us to create something new, exciting, and engaging for the children.
We would like to install some sheltered areas, and a new 'Discovery Zone' and 'Play Zone' which will include new playground markings, a mud kitchen and planting area with potting shed, as well as new water and sand areas.
The EYFS outdoor area is a child’s first outdoor play experience at school. Our pupils deserve opportunities to learn through play and develop their imagination and creatively. The newly planned play area will give the immediate 30 Early Years children a safe space to develop communication, social skills, problem-solving and decision making (as well as all the children who will attend the school in later years). We will afford children freedom of this space to allow them to make their own choices and build their independence. In providing these opportunities to our pupils at an early age, we will be giving them a better start in life and we hope to see this transfer into academic results.
Our target is £25,000. We are currently on £1,300.
We are trying all avenues within school to support this project. Any help you can give, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
