MP Sir John Hayes spent time on Friday afternoon with the children and leadership team at Spalding St Paul’s Primary School.
Sir John enjoyed a Forest School lesson with the Early Years Foundation Stage pupils and then a short Q&A with Year 5 pupils.
It was his first visit since the school was taken over by the Community Inclusive Trust.
Sir John Hayes, MP:
“It’s a great pleasure to be back again at Spalding St Paul’s to see the progress that’s been made here. I know the dedicated leadership and professionalism of the teachers makes a huge difference to the young people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting today.
It was a delight to see their eager faces, their disposition, clearly ready to learn, and their expectations of learning. And that’s what we have to do, we have to fix those expectations at the highest possible level to ensure that every child can achieve their potential.”
Headteacher, Selina Ratchford:
“It was a pleasure to have Sir John visit us today. He was able to look around the school and spend a bit of time with some of the children. I think it was really important to him to see the school in practice and chat to some of the staff in depth about education.”
The Rt Hon Sir John Hayes is the Conservative MP for South Holland and The Deepings and has been an MP continuously since 1 May 1997.
